Not long after its founding, NPLB Outdoors expanded its services to include fishing trips, providing veterans with the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility and camaraderie of a day on the water. Today, we host over 15 fishing events annually across the United States, all offered at no cost to deserving veterans.
Our adaptive fishing program is designed to accommodate individuals with a wide range of injuries, ensuring everyone can participate fully. We’ve proudly hosted veterans with upper and lower limb amputations, spinal cord injuries, vision impairments, and other serious conditions. Specialized adaptive equipment is available to meet individual needs.
Each participant is paired with a mentor—experienced fishermen and professional fishing guides—who provide personalized guidance and support. Veterans of all skill levels can improve their technique, learn about tackle selection, boat safety, adaptive modifications, and more.
To continually expand outdoor opportunities for wounded, injured, and ill veterans, NPLB Outdoors collaborates with private landowners, federal and state agencies, industry professionals, and other like-minded organizations.
Through these fishing events, we aim to provide not only skill-building and recreation but also a sense of peace, connection, and healing for those we serve.
